Bearing position guide

Which Koyo bearing type sits in which position?

Bearing position decides the bearing type: tapered roller bearings carry axles and wheel ends, spherical roller bearings carry heavy shafts, and needle roller bearings fit compact drives. Use this table as a first selection reference; the final Koyo / JTEKT reference is confirmed for your machine.

Bearing position Typical equipment Common bearing types
Axles Tractors, harvesters, wheeled construction equipment Tapered roller bearings
Wheel ends Excavators, wheel loaders Tapered roller bearings (cone and cup)
Gearboxes Farm and construction machinery transmissions Tapered roller · Cylindrical roller bearings
Compact drives Space-limited transmission mechanisms Needle roller bearings
Heavy-duty shafts Heavier machinery, combine harvesters Spherical roller bearings
Auxiliary rotating parts Auxiliary machinery, planter and sprayer drives Deep groove ball bearings
Specified positions Positions with a defined load or axial requirement Angular contact · Thrust ball bearings

Sizing alone is not enough: the same dimensions can carry different internal designs and sealing for mobile equipment.

Peak-season repairs

In peak season, the right bearing the first time is what keeps machines working.

Checking the reference against the machine and quoting every bearing in the assembly together prevents the wrong part arriving and a second breakdown for a missed bearing.

Combine harvester working a wheat field during harvest

Harvest season

A day late on parts is a day the machine stands.

Farm season: planters, sprayers, harvesters, combines

When a header drive or wheel bearing fails mid-season, the marking is often worn and only the machine model is known. We work back from the machine and bearing position to the Koyo / JTEKT reference.

  • Reference checked against machine model and part identification
  • Sealing confirmed for dusty field conditions
  • All bearings for a combine or gearbox rebuild on one quote

Construction season: excavators and wheel loaders

Wheel-end and axle bearings are critical wear parts on fleet equipment. Mixed lists from several job sites and machines are put together on one enquiry, so the whole fleet's requirement is quoted at once.

  • Wheel-end tapered roller bearings with matching cones and cups
  • Complete assembly lists, so no mating part is missed
  • Delivery to your depot or port

Who buys from us

Workshops, fleets and distributors each send a different kind of enquiry.

KOYO Bearing Supplier serves equipment buyers worldwide, including the USA, Peru, the Netherlands, Argentina, Egypt and Poland. Here is what a typical enquiry looks like for each buyer.

Agricultural service workshops

Technicians send the machine model, the bearing position and photos of the marking, measured dimensions and the assembly.

Construction fleet operators

Fleet parts buyers send the Koyo / JTEKT reference and quantity per excavator or wheel loader, and confirm both before ordering.

Distributors & maintenance contractors

Buyers send one mixed list covering several machines or job sites, plus the destination country, postcode and required arrival date.

From the field

Buyers who have run these repairs in season.

Our agricultural equipment service shop uses Koyo bearings for planters, harvesters and sprayers. This supplier provides the correct tapered, spherical and cylindrical roller bearings for each machine type, and the parts arrive in time for our busy season.
Jesse ThompsonJesse Thompson
We run a construction equipment fleet. Koyo bearings on our excavator and wheel loader wheel ends are a critical wear item. The bearings we ordered arrived with the correct rollers and cups, and our mechanic noted the fit was exactly as expected.
Pedro AlvarezPedro Alvarez
When a Koyo bearing failed on a harvest machine during the season, we needed a replacement urgently. The supplier identified the correct Koyo reference, shipped same-day, and the machine was back in the field within the day. That is what emergency support looks like.

Supporting services

From machine details to a written quote and shipment.

Every application enquiry gets four things: the reference checked against your machine, the full assembly quoted together, a written quote with clear terms, and shipping documents agreed before dispatch.

  1. 01

    Machine-based matching

Koyo / JTEKT references checked against the machine model, part identification and bearing position. Gaps are resolved before quoting.

  2. 02

    Full assembly quoting

Quote one bearing position or every bearing a gearbox or axle rebuild needs, so mating parts are not missed.

  3. 03

    Written quotation

Model, quantity, price and currency, stock status, estimated lead time, validity period and applicable freight or tax terms.

  4. 04

    Shipping documents

Shipping method, dispatch timing and required shipping documents confirmed with you after the order is placed.

FAQ

Application bearing questions

Short answers to what workshops and fleet buyers ask most when the bearing marking is worn or the application needs confirming.

The bearing marking is worn and I only know the machine model. What should I send?

Send the machine model, the bearing position and photos of whatever marking remains, plus measured dimensions and a photo of the assembly. We use these together to identify the Koyo / JTEKT reference before quoting.

Can I attach the machine part number?

Yes. Machine part numbers, manual pages and repair parts lists are checked together with the Koyo / JTEKT reference. They are especially useful when a whole assembly is being rebuilt.

How is the right sealing confirmed for field or site conditions?

Sealing is confirmed from the application, not from size alone. Tell us the bearing position and working conditions, such as dusty fields, and send a photo of the existing bearing; the specification is settled before the quote.

Will you supply a substitute instead of the original reference?

Only with your approval. Before quoting we ask whether you accept a separately identified alternative, and any technical change is made only after you approve it.

Request a quote

Send your machine details and marking photos to get a written quote.

Include the equipment model, the Koyo / JTEKT reference if known, the bearing position, mating parts, quantity, destination country and postcode, and when you need the parts.
